Elizabeth Jane Cole

Elizabeth Jane Cole is a co founder of Offworld Voyage, a Space Analog Research project dedicated to the design of environmentally sustainable interplanetary exploration training habitats that also solve for adaptation to climate biodevastation on Earth. Her focus is on designing research missions and decentralized and distributed coordination systems for autonomous and collective action through the Offworld Voyage ‘Astronaut Collectives Are Beautiful’ initiative. She is passionate about building space analog research programs that develop new lines of scientific inquiry, freely exploring new questions and reporting new findings honestly, and further the quest for truth.

She is a co founder of Evil Twin Booking Agency, a collectively run agency representing public figures in science, arts and activism, where she has served in managerial, logistical and creative roles since 2002. While leading the organization she has helped develop the concept, story and strategy for projects that promote rational thought, access to information, and intelligent debate as well as independent critical thinking. She has had the opportunity to create support and outreach structures and opportunities for people and projects effecting positive change in the world.

Elizabeth is an alumna of the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS Crew 286), and a core committee member of the Journal of Space Analog Research, a peer-reviewed publication from The Mars Society dedicated to advancing our understanding of human space exploration through terrestrial analog studies.

In the past she has written for Wired Magazine and has produced an episode for NPR’s Love and Radio Podcast.
